Effective June 22, 2026
Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Journi handles personal information for Journi.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Journi operates Journi and is responsible for the personal information processed to provide
your account, journal workspace, support, product diagnostics, and entitlements.
Paid web checkout is handled by Paddle as merchant of record and authorized reseller. Paddle separately
processes checkout, tax, payment, fraud prevention, invoice, chargeback, and buyer support information under
its own buyer terms and privacy notice.
2. Information Journi collects
Journi may collect and store:
- Account information, such as authentication identifiers and the email address linked to your sign-in.
- Billing status information received from Paddle, such as customer IDs, subscription IDs, plan, status, and renewal dates.
- Journal entries, images, generated assets, themes, and workspace state you create or upload.
- Usage information, such as plan limits, image generation counts, feature events, errors, and device or browser diagnostics.
- Support information you choose to send, including the account email and issue details.
3. How Journi uses information
Journi uses personal information to:
- Provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the service.
- Save journal entries, images, themes, and generated assets.
- Apply plan limits, paid entitlements, renewals, cancellations, and add-on credits.
- Generate images and process image jobs you request.
- Respond to support, privacy, security, and account requests.
- Understand product reliability and beta friction using privacy-restricted analytics and diagnostics.
- Comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse.
4. Journal content and analytics
Private journal content is not used for marketing analytics, ad targeting, or sale to data brokers. Analytics
events must not include journal text, image prompts, generated image content, image URLs, uploaded file names,
entry titles, raw user IDs, authentication tokens, or email addresses.
Product events may include privacy-safe metadata such as plan, billing status, broad usage buckets, error area,
checkout state, and feature names.
5. Session replay and diagnostics
Journi may record shell-only product sessions to understand beta friction. Private writing, journal editor
canvases, generated image surfaces, entry titles, account identifiers, and text inputs are blocked or masked
before replay data leaves the browser.
6. Service providers and sharing
Journi shares information only as needed to operate the service, process requested actions, comply with law, or
protect users and the service. Service providers may include hosting, database, authentication, object storage,
analytics, observability, email/support, image generation, and billing providers.
Paddle may pass limited buyer data to Journi for product fulfillment, order processing,
fraud prevention, and product support. Journi does not use Paddle buyer information for marketing unless you
separately consent where required.
7. Retention and deletion
Journi keeps account, journal, generated asset, billing entitlement, and support information for as long as
needed to provide the service, meet legal or tax obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain
backups. Backup copies may take additional time to expire from routine systems.
You may request account deletion. Deleting an account may remove or disable access to journal content and
generated assets, while some records may be retained where required for billing, security, legal compliance, or
legitimate business records.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to
processing of your personal information. You may also opt out of non-essential analytics where the product
provides that control.
For privacy questions, account deletion, or rights requests, contact
support@usejourni.com. For Paddle checkout privacy
requests, use Paddle's buyer privacy request process.
9. Security and international processing
Journi uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information,
including access controls and encrypted transport where supported. No hosted service can guarantee absolute
security.
Journi and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. When required, appropriate
transfer safeguards are used for international processing.
10. Contact
Privacy questions or deletion requests can be sent to
support@usejourni.com. If this notice changes materially,
the effective date above will be updated.
